Third Grade Communities in the Classroom!
Third grade is an exciting year for academic growth, increased self-confidence, and improved social skills. The third grade teachers are focused on building strong, caring communities in each classroom.
Students receive homework on Monday and are to turn it in on Friday. They are required to read for 20 minutes each night, practice math facts, and study spelling words each week. Reinforced practice of these skills at home is essential to each third graders success.
This is the first year students will take the Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP). TCAP is a state-wide test that will be administered in late February. Third graders are assessed in Reading, Math, and Writing. Encouraging your son or daughter to read at home will help prepare them to do their best on this test!
